Clean Focus Yield Limited and its affiliates have purchased Greenskies Renewable Energy — making Clean Focus the owner and operator of the largest commercial and industrial (C&I) portfolio in the US.

Greenskies Renewable Energy LLC, a Connecticut-based developer of commercial and industrial (C&I) solar projects, has been purchased by California-based Clean Focus Yield Ltd., an integrated group of renewable energy companies with global reach. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Middletown-based Greenskies Renewable Energy, which has been called the most prolific solar developer in Connecticut, has been purchased by Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Clean Focus Yield Limited, a group of renewable-energy companies.

Connecticut-based Greenskies Renewable Energy has signed a contract with the Town of Sprague, Conn., to build a 150 kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system at the Sprague Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Sprague officials have hired Middletown's Greenskies Renewable Energy to build and maintain a 150-kilowatt solar array at a wastewater plant in the town's Baltic section.

Lewis County’s solar project has kicked off a little later than planned, but county officials say they still expect the array to start providing low-cost power before the end of the year. “The goal is still to be up and running this fall,” County Manager Ryan M. Piche said.

Thanks to a shorter-than-expected construction plan, work on Lewis County’s solar project won’t need to kick off until early July to get it up and running by late November.

Construction will begin soon on a solar array estimated to provide about 75 percent of the power needed to run the drinking water treatment system at the Mount Higby reservoir.
