A Property Power Purchase Agreement, referred to as Property PPA, provides property owners with immediate energy savings with no up-front costs. In addition, the Property PPA eliminates many of the traditional PPA constraints allowing property owners to participate who may not have qualified or been interested in a PPA in the past. The option of by receiving a new roof along with a rooftop solar array, financed through the same Property PPA structure, eliminates one of the largest barriers faced when considering solar energy. A Property PPA is differentiated from a Traditional PPA because it can be thought of as being tied to the property, not the off-taker. If the property is sold or the occupant changes the PPA remains to benefit the new owner/tenant.
Your system is fully covered as we are completely responsible if anything happens during the term of the agreement. This includes both the solar system itself and any repairs or upgrades completed on your roof. It is worth noting that we have never had an issue with any roof we have installed on to date.
Part of the beauty of working with us is our team of structural engineers that inspect all roofs we deal with and retrofit them accordingly. If needed, we can include a complete re-roof into your solar PPA, and may still deliver net positive savings.
We perform a site visit and determine the roof condition for solar installation on your roof. We can also incorporate roof repairs or even an entire roof replacement into the solar pricing. Our financing is unique in the marketplace as we have partnered with one of the largest roofing supplier in the country, to offer customers a comprehensive warranty on the roof along with the solar system when installed at the same time.
Greenskies own and maintain the performance of the system for you. Meaning we handle all the operation and maintenance of the system. You don’t deal with the solar at all. It’s designed as a completely hassle-free experience.
Payments are made twice a year for a fixed term (20-25 years) through an assessment on their property tax bill. Annual true-ups assure that you only pay for the power you receive.

If you sell your property before your solar energy system is completely paid off, the remainder of the PPA Agreement and electricity savings are assigned to the new owner.
Yes, you can sell the building at any time and the Property PPA agreement is transferred to the new owner.
