A crew from Solar Tight Installation (STI) including Luis Feliciano, Benjamin Rich, Alex Rodriquez, Wayne Triba – and others are hard at work installing a Greenskies Renewable Energy LLC ground-mounted solar array farm, going up on the Wesleyan University campus near playing fields at Long Lane and Wadsworth Street in Middletown, Connecticut.
Frames up – and panels installed.
The array is expected to produce 1.2 million kilowatt hours of clean renewable electricity per year as part of Wesleyan ongoing efforts to create a sustainable campus. Wesleyan and Greenskies will enter into a power-purchase agreement, according to a company press release announcement; Greenskies will design, develop, finance, own and maintain the solar installation for the next 20 years at no cost to the university while Wesleyan agrees to purchase 100 percent of the electricity produced at the site at a significantly discounted rate.
Construction recently began and the 50 kW-AC solar PV array project is expected to be completed by Sept. 1, 2016.
