Hull Street Energy invests in distributed solar platform Greenskies

Private equity firm Hull Street Energy LLC has invested an unspecified amount in distributed solar and energy storage project developer Greenskies Clean Focus.

The strategic investment was announced by Hull Street Energy on Monday with the commitment to develop Greenskies’ portfolio and support the expansion of behind-the-metre renewable energy capacity.

“With this investment, Hull Street Energy expands its footprint in critical power infrastructure that will be required to decarbonise the North American energy economy,” the investor said.

Connecticut-based Greenskies is focused on the development, construction, financing, ownership and operation of distributed solar photovoltaic (PV) plants. Set up in 2009, the company is also delivering decarbonisation solutions for energy storage and combined cooling, heat and power (CCHP) systems, as well as microgrids. So far, it has developed and installed renewable energy plants totalling 314 MW across 19 states.
