Greenskies Unveils $25m PV Fund
Connecticut-based Greenskies has teamed up with the state’s United Bank of Glastonbury to create a $25m fund for large commercial solar projects.
The cash will go to schemes in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York, said Greenskies co-founder Michael Silvestrini.
The move follows a tie-up between Greenskies and the US arm of Netherlands-based bank Rabobank earlier this month for an $82m funding pot to cover a 26MW solar portfolio in the same states.
United Bank has approximately $5.0bn in assets and is one of the largest publically traded banks headquartered in New England.
Greenskies designs, builds and maintains solar photovoltaic systems for corporate clients, municipalities and government agencies, educational institutions and utilities.
The company said it currently has more than 60 installations online and an additional 100 projects in various stages of development throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic States.
