Greenskies Ranked No. 1 Among Commercial And Industrial Solar Power Firms

A Middletown-based solar-power company, Greenskies Renewable Energy, had the biggest share of the commercial and industrial market in the nation during the first quarter of 2016, according to a solar industry research firm.

The rankings by Greentech Media are based on how many megawatts of solar energy a company installed during the period, and Greenskies was tops in the nation with a 5.5 percent market share.

In a separate industry ranking by the magazine and website Solar Power World, Greenskies was recently named as one of the top 10 solar power developers in the U.S. in 2015.

Greenskies was founded by Mike Silvestrini and Art Linares in 2008. It has rapidly expanded its operations and employs 70 people, company officials said earlier this year.
