Greenskies Clean Focus is funding rooftop solar installations at seven schools and the District Administration Building for Piscataway Township Schools in New Jersey, with no upfront costs to the district. This is made possible through a 15-year solar PPA. The combined capacity of Greenskies‘ installations in Piscataway is 1.67 MW, powered by 3,700 solar panels. Under the PPA, the district can purchase electricity at a low, fixed rate and outsource O&M costs to Greenskies for the duration of the agreement. Over the 15-year period, these solar projects are expected to offset approximately 20,000 metric tons of CO2. This initiative aligns with Piscataway Township Schools’ commitment to solar energy, which has been a cornerstone of their Energy Savings Improvement Plan (ESIP). The district anticipates saving $18 million over 18 years, using these savings to fund further upgrades.
