Michael leads the Legal team and is Greenskies primary attorney and legal advisor. With a career spanning over 25 years as an energy attorney, Michael has held corporate counsel positions at two Fortune 500 utilities. His vast experience encompasses various aspects of the industry, including tax equity transactions, project financing, M&A activity, energy trading and marketing, PPA negotiation, EPC construction contracts, and environmental permitting and compliance activity. Michael has years of experience representing competitive suppliers and independent power producers in developing renewable and traditional generation resources, including solar, wind, biomass, and hydro generation.
Prior to joining Greenskies, Michael was an attorney at Stackpole & French, where he assisted commercial clients with a focus on the energy industry. He has served as corporate counsel for several large utilities, including VELCO, Eversource (formerly Northeast Utilities), Progress Energy (Duke-Progress), and for independent energy developer Capital Power Corporation. He has also held administrative positions under several ISO-NE committees representing transmission owners across New England.
Michael received his Juris Doctorate from Vermont Law School. Michael also holds a Master of Environmental Law from Vermont Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Saint Mary's College, Maryland.
