Financial Analyst

Summary

As a Financial Analyst in Greenskies Asset Management and Accounting teams, you will be partnered with our Asset Management/Accounting Manager to identify operating and financial information and datasets to improve Greenskies modeling, financial reporting and accounting while learning the United States Solar Industry.

You will perform in-depth financial analysis while maintaining various databases and financial models. You will gain experience in both the solar and financial markets by tracking the operating and financial performance of numerous Solar projects.

Location(s): In Office - North Haven, CT

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Finance/Accounting Manager in achieving departmental objectives and ensuring operating assets are performing at peak performance.
  • Prepare and present reports, including excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations, for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy and clarity.
  • Compile and review monthly operating reports, providing detailed variance analysis against financial models.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies, collaborating with internal teams and vendors to address outstanding issues.
  • Prepare balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to company accounting and financial guidelines.
  • Support the annual audit.
  • Participate in budgeting process.
  • Assist in developing and refining asset performance tracking and reporting.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Operations & Maintenance team to negotiate vendor and service provider contracts to optimize operating expenses and improve service quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Asset Management and Accounting teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Personable with high energy and action-oriented work style.
  • Must treat deadlines and commitments with the utmost seriousness and urgency.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Ability to work as a team member and function independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
