Director of Origination, Regional Accounts

Summary

Greenskies is a leading developer, owner, and operator of renewable energy projects in the United States. We offer commercial, industrial, municipal, and utility customers a full suite of decarbonization solutions, including on-site and off-site solar, battery storage, microgrids, and CCHP. Founded in 2009, Greenskies has developed and constructed 314 MW of commercial-scale renewable energy generating facilities across 590 sites in 19 states.

The Director of Origination will drive the expansion of our operating portfolio by originating, negotiating, and closing contracts for renewable energy project acquisition and development opportunities. The Director of Origination will establish and manage relationships with commercial clients, and leverage the capabilities of Greenskies to advise those clients regarding the adoption of on-site solar and other sustainable energy technologies. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Business Development. This is an in-office position in New York City.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Generate and pursue leads and attend virtual and in-person consultation appointments with prospective clients.
  • Assess clients’ goals and needs and develop proposals, present solutions, answer questions, and address concerns.
  • Present, explain, negotiate, and close power purchase, lease, and system installation agreements with clients.
  • Gather the customer and facility information required by internal engineering and finance teams to build and price solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal finance and engineering teams to develop proposals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum BS or BA degree, preferably in a finance- or engineering-related field.
  • Minimum three years of project or deal origination experience, preferably in energy or finance, with a demonstrable track record of closed deals.
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze, summarize, and communicate complex technical and financial information.
  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM systems.
  • Professional, self-disciplined, and honest.
