Contractor Bid Process Manager

Summary

Greenskies is seeking a Contractor Bid Process Manager to support its growing renewable energy project pipeline The role encompasses installation contractor engagement, processing bids, negotiating prices, and awarding projects. The Contractor Bid Process Manager will work closely with Construction Managers to choose the right contracting partners for each project’s scope. A successful candidate thrives in a team setting and will interact with construction, engineering, operations & maintenance, and legal teams, as well as external parties. The Contractor Bid Process Manager reports directly to the EPC Estimation Manager.

Location(s): North Haven, CT

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Research and understand the required scope of new projects. Create project-specific scope of work documents to provide to each bidding contractor.
  • Choose which contractors best fit new projects. Consult Construction team to reach agreement on contractor list. Engage contractors and gauge their interest in bidding.
  • Execute contractor bidding process, from conception to contract execution. Package project, scope, and bid documents. Deliver to installing contractors and field questions.
  • Receive contractor bids and review for completeness. Follow up with contractors regarding their progress. Negotiate line-item costs to get the best possible pricing.
  • Upload bids into project management software. Ensure bids are reflected in current project budget.
  • Achieve all bidding milestones at the appropriate point in each project’s timeline.
  • Maintain contractor bid template. Ensure contractors populate bid templates correctly.
  • Consult Construction team regarding project awards. Ensure alignment regarding the best contractor to award.
  • Create contractor KPIs. Collect contractor performance feedback from Construction and O&M teams. Utilize all data available to highlight cost trends. Advise the preliminary EPC budgeting team by providing contractor-related cost assumptions and price trends.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, construction management, process and analytics or engineering.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in construction administration or technical field.
  • Previous experience negotiating contractor bids and quotes is preferred.
  • Proficient at reading plans and specs.
